What are the deposit requirements? Back to Top
Buyer must always maintain the security deposit with SalvageXM at minimum of $600 USD. The security deposit enables Buyer to bid up to $6,000 USD and be the current high bidder on 1 vehicle count at a time. If Buyer wishes to bid an amount higher than the security deposit, Buyer must increase security deposit to cover desired bid amount. SalvageXM will return the security deposit upon Buyer’s written request if all invoices have been paid, but Buyer’s account will be permanently suspended. In the event Buyer fails to pay any invoice and the debt becomes uncollectible, SalvageXM will use the security deposit to satisfy the debt. Any deductions from security deposit will be subject to 4% credit card processing convenience fees. SalvageXM reserves the right to raise the security deposit for any Buyer for any reason, in its sole and absolute discretion.

As a winning bidder, you pay the final auction price, auction buyer fee, and export brokerage fee, which are collected by us prior to the vehicle being shipped from the auction location. SalvageXM also charges a $95 documentation/title fee for every purchase, this will include delivery of title & documents to buyer. For every vehicle won you will be charged a mandatory Copart broker transaction fee of $ 50. This fee is separate from the Copart auction fees. All applicable Copart transaction fees will be passed to the buyer which will include Copart bidding fees, Copart gate fees, Copart virtual bid fees, Copart environmental fees, Copart mailing fees and any applicable Copart storage or late fees.

All payments for vehicles bought through SalvageXM are due by 5:00 pm on the third business day of the sale date, including the date of the sale. In the event the payment is not received within the allotted time, a late payment fee of $50 USD will be added to each item bought. Late fees will accrue at a rate of $50 USD per day until paid in full. In the event the payment is not received within seven business days of the sale date, the Buyer shall be considered to have forfeited their full security deposit and SalvageXM shall have the right to relist the vehicle. Payment for vehicles may be made via bank wire transfer, direct deposit, cashier's check, money order or in cash in person at SalvageXM's office. Payments for vehicles made by PayPal, major credit cards or any other merchant system are not accepted. Acceptance of company checks is subject to prior approval by SalvageXM. Buyer agrees to be personally liable for payment of any bank wire transfer, direct deposit, cashier's check, money order, or check that is dishonored. In the event of a dishonored bank wire transfer, direct deposit, cashier's check, money order, or check, Buyer agrees to make payment within two (2) days after receipt of notice from SalvageXM of a dishonored check, and to pay Company's NSF processing fee, and any and all collection costs including but not limited to, collection agency fees, and/or attorney's fees and court costs. You will use Proxy Bidding to automatically bid for you. To use this feature, enter your maximum bid amount (highest bid that you are willing to pay) into the bid box on the auction page. Our system will record your "maximum bid" amount and place a bid at the current LOWEST minimum bid. If another bidder bids higher than your LOWEST minimum bid, the system will automatically place another bid for you. You will therefore again be the current winning bidder. On your behalf, the proxy bidding system will continue to make smallest bids necessary to maintain you as the winning bidder until you are the winner of the auction or until another bidder bids higher than your maximum allowable proxy bid amount. Proxy bids are completely private and are never displayed to other bidders or auctioneer.

It is our policy to allow first time buyers to have no more than one (1) outstanding transactions that require payment. Once all outstanding transactions have been paid, you are free to continue bidding until you win an additional auction. As soon as your first transaction is complete, you will be able to bid again. It is our policy to only allow new clients to have one outstanding bid at a time. This means that once you place your first bid, you will be blocked from placing further bids. This block will remain in effect from the time you place the bid until the auction you bid on is complete. If you do not win the bid, then you may place another bid. If you win, you will also face a restriction (see details). This procedure is only for new clients. Once you have completed one transaction, this restriction will be removed from your account. A completed transaction is one that has been paid in full.

Auction determines which vehicles will be placed on the SalvageXM. SalvageXM vehicles come from commercial sellers, such as insurance companies, manufacturers, leasing companies, financial institutions, and rental companies. No, this is not normally possible. Pictures are available usually for a particular vehicle. In some locations it may be possible to purchase additional pictures.

As a registered user you may access to the complete history of the vehicle from the day it was first sold after manufacture. This information is very comprehensive. All vehicles sold/bought through SalvageXM are sold/bought “AS-IS WHERE-IS” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR MERCHANTABILITY. Yes, after purchasing a vehicle you may purchase insurance to cover the ocean transport phase of the shipping process. This insurance can be placed at 0.9% of the vehicle value. This insurance covers both damage and total loss.

Auction determines which vehicles will be placed on the SalvageXM. SalvageXM vehicles come from commercial sellers, such as insurance companies, manufacturers, leasing companies, financial institutions, and rental companies. Large and medium-sized dealer consignors and wholesalers may place their vehicles in the SalvageXM inventory.

When a vehicle is purchased you will know all of the information about that vehicle. Invoices will be issued and location revealed. *You can not personally pick up vehicles at Copart, you can utilize SalvageXM’s transportation service or hire a licensed carrier.
Can I see the vehicles I am interested in bidding on? Back to Top
No, this is not normally possible. Pictures are available usually for a particular vehicle. In some locations it may be possible to purchase additional pictures.
How can I find the history of the registrations, accidents and branding of any vehicle? Back to Top
As a registered user you may access to the complete history of the vehicle from the day it was first sold after manufacture. This information is very comprehensive. It includes all registrations, accidents and the status(branding and salvage) of the vehicle. Vehicle History Reports can be bought in the SalvageXM Store page.
What if the vehicle is not in the condition advertised? Back to Top
All vehicles sold/bought through SalvageXM are sold/bought “AS-IS WHERE-IS” WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR MERCHANTABILITY. The term “Vehicles” shall mean all items posted for sale on the SalvageXM Website or purchased from any auction through SalvageXM, including but not limited to cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, jet skis, industrial equipment, homeowners salvage, trailers, RV’s, etc. SalvageXM and its vehicle suppliers expressly disclaim the accuracy or completeness of any and all information provided to Buyers regarding vehicles, whether provided in written, verbal, or digital image form (“Vehicle Information”). Vehicle Information provided by SalvageXM and its vehicle suppliers is for convenience only. Buyers shall not rely on Vehicle Information in deciding whether or how much to bid on a vehicle offered for sale through Company. Vehicle Information includes but is not limited to: year, make, model, condition, ACV, damage amount, damage type, drivability, accessories, mileage, odometer disclosures, vehicle identification number (e.g. “VIN”, “HIN”, and serial number), title repair cost, repair history, title history, and total loss history. SalvageXM expressly disclaims any and all representations, warranties, and guarantees regarding vehicles sold. SalvageXM does not guarantee that keys are available for any vehicle sold, regardless of whether keys are present in online vehicle images, or were present in the vehicle prior to the time of purchase. Certain jurisdictions permit vehicles to be sold with missing VIN plates; as a result, SalvageXM does not guarantee that vehicles are equipped with any or all VIN plates. Parts may be missing. SalvageXM does not guarantee that vehicles meet or can be modified to meet local emission and/or safety requirements. It is the sole responsibility of Buyer to ascertain, confirm research, inspect, and/or investigate vehicles, any and all Vehicle Information prior to buying the vehicle. Buyer agrees that vehicles are sold AS IS and are not represented as being in a road worthy condition, mechanically sound, or maintained at any guaranteed level of quality. The vehicles may not be fit for use as a means of transportation and may require substantial repairs at bidder's expense.

Note that when doing a basic search of a vehicle, the actual transportation costs through the port of New Jersey will be stated. Keep this cost in mind when purchasing a vehicle.
